It is the intent of Baystate Youth Field Hockey League to create a positive environment for the youth of each participating Member Program, through a well-structured and organized sports league that helps to foster athletic development and strong character. Baystate is committed to ensuring that all participating Programs operate with an emphasis on skill development, good sportsmanship, and enjoyment.
Our primary goal is for players, coaches, parents, officials and spectators to have a fun, rewarding experience while continually demonstrating good sportsmanship on and off the field of play. We look to continually educate the fundamental skills, rules and teamwork required to play field hockey.
We look to achieve this goal by emphasizing positive coaching, teaching life lessons and skills beyond the sport and promoting a sense of community within our program that can extend to the communities our teams represent.
Baystate Youth Field Hockey League is established with the State of Massachusetts and holds non-profit status. We have four Baystate Officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) that were voted in during the establishment of the league and voted into office at the annual meeting each year. Each Program within the league will nominate one person to represent their interests and will be a voting member of our board, generally the program Director from each member program.
